First of all my condolences toward the friends and family of Mr. Fred Fogwell, who passed last week - his obituary was mentioned earlier in a post above.
On a happier note, my wife, son and I visited Va Beach this past weekend, and had the unexpected pleasure of seeing the guys performing as part of an outdoor festival Saturday night...I guess clean living, karma and good taste in music pay off after all! I thought the sound & mix was very good - great vocals & soloing from Donny, likewise from Rick and it goes without saying Mike & Craig sounded fab & seemed to be enjoying the beautiful weather and setting.
Didn't catch the first couple of numbers but got to hear a lot of favorites, not the least of which was "Boulder Skies" Outstanding performance as always and the crowd, though modest, was into it big time (despite the occasional Freebird requests from somewhere in the back). My older son now knows exactly why there are so many PPL disks in the car & around the house - you never want to be too far from one.
Unexpected pleasure #2 was getting to hear and later speak to one John David Call afterwards, who never sounded better - live and outdoors, no less - and who mentioned a little something about a show in these parts...he said it'll be announced here on the site.
Prairie Dog I know you read these from time to time and I regret not being able to stick around & say howdy after the show but we made our best attempt to represent the hometown (Terrace Park is kinda part of the the hometown, anyway) amongst the beach bums...
Thanks for continuing to bring it guys,
John Maggard
